I am NOT ashamed to tell people that I am 100% against alcohol. I grew up in a country where Alcohol is almost next to water for most people. I wish I could tell you ALL of the different stories or people we’ve met who’s lives have been affected by alcohol. It’s not a joke to me. It would take 4-5 blog posts for me to be able to tell the different stories of people we’ve met who’s lives have been destroyed because of alcohol.

I also don’t think getting drunk is funny at all. I hear different Christians try to argue about how it’s okay as long as it’s done in moderation. All I can do is shake my head in disbelief. Christians today have become comfortable with the worlds lifestyle or beliefs as long as it’s done in so called “moderation.” We are CRAZY to think that any kind of SIN can be done in moderation. If they only knew!!! I see 2 and 3 year olds walking back from the store with a big bottle of Alcohol in their hand to take home to their Dad and his buddies that just got off work. Then I hear those same kids crying because they’re hungry but don’t get to eat cause their Daddy spent all their money on Alcohol.

The other day Ryan visited two students at the hospital that he teaches at one of the schools. They are 7 and 8 years old. Last Saturday, the two kids and the parents were on the motorcycle when they had an accident. The Dad was drunk! Both the Father and Mother died. The Mother’s head was cracked open and her brains spread on the ground. The two kids survived but have not yet been told their Mother and Father are GONE. They keep asking when can they see them. My heart HURTS for these kids!! The pain and hurt they are going to feel when they find out their lives will never be the same because of ALCOHOL!!

You think Alcohol is OKAY? You think it doesn’t destroy lives? Try telling that to those two kids. I know Alcohol is a problem all over the world, but it is unbelievable how alcohol is destroying this country. Come visit the Philippines. I promise you will never look at Alcohol the same! At night, almost on every corner there is a group of drunks hanging out. If they are not hanging out there, they’re at home with their buddies getting wasted while the Mom and kids go without food. Alcohol destroys lives!! I will never be ashamed to speak out against Alcohol. Please pray for these two kids!

Wow, that is so sad. I completely understand the high cost of a little bit of “enjoyment” can bring as my Dad was killed in a car accident about two weeks before I was born. Because of irresponsible grown men who decided to drink and drive my life and the lives of my family were forever changed. I understand that God in His infinite wisdom allowed my Dad to be taken from this earth while in his early 30’s for a reason that I won’t understand this side of heaven. Praise the Lord my Dad had accepted Christ about six months before he was killed. I will meet him in heaven! I am so thankful for that promise. :)
